Howdy Everybody,
I'm planning a cross-country trip this summer, starting July 1st.
Gonna let my thumb hang, and see where I end up.
I'm thinking of visiting LA, Grand Canyon, San Antonio, Miami, Buffalo and Montreal, at some point, in no particular order.
Hoping to travel on the cheap, hitching and couch surfing all along the way. I'll be honing my street-performance skills along the way. Hoping to find Circus Workshops, music lessons, artist collectives & squats. Anything and everything on this trip is at the will of the road, and the kindness of strangers(new friends).
Any advice from people on here would be great:
Cool sites/classes along the way?
"Must-see" hikes?
Swimmin' holes?
Couches to offer?
If anyone wants to hitch along for a while, or has any tips, let me know! Black Rock City goes up on August 28th, so I've got two months to fill with anything and everything. (Can you tell I'm excited?)
Thanks a million in advance!
Nikolas

Re: Cross Country Summer
Fri, June 9, 2006 - 2:21 PMIf you're going to San Antonio, take a trip up I-35 to Austin. Many artist's collectives, co-ops, lots of travellers, and I know some vacant couches :)
I can probably find you a couch in San Antonio as well. So keep in touch, man, and good luck on your travels.
Namaste.

Mon, June 26, 2006 - 9:37 PMMuch obliged Terry,
I'm definately planning to check out Austin if I've got the time. I don't know a sould in Austin, but I've heard only good things. What's the word on Houston? I'm gonna be making a stop there for a couple days in July.
Take care, Nikolas -

Re: Cross Country Summer
Wed, June 28, 2006 - 8:59 AMI live in Houston for twenty years and have no itentions of ever going back, except to visit family and friends. Driving into Houston, you will feel a heavy atmosphere of uncomfortable energy produced by all the commerce and the ungodly large wide-spread suburbs that have become synonymous with Houston. I'm being bias though :)
